You will need :- Embroidery thread Needles Snips Thin Card
Measure out how long (tall) you want your tassles then cut out a strip of card at that height. Put a slit in 1 end a little way from the edge. Get your cotton for sewing ready (I use 1 strand of the same thread I use for tassles)
Thread the thread onto the needle like so. A loop should form the other end. This will form a knot when needle passes through later.
Right now grab embroidery thread and put then end in the slit of card like so.
Wrap the rest round the card until it's as thick as you want it. Make sure you end at the bottom with the other end and slit. Snip. Now get the needle and pass under the top part of your thread on card making sure needle passes back through the loop and pull to form the knot.
Cut the rest of the thread at the bottom and slide off the card.
Make sure holding all the loose bits tight, push the needle back through a little bit down from the knot as shown.
Wrap around a few times, knot off and push needle down middle of tassle so come out bottom then trim.
1 tassle done :D
To make it ready for beading, use the loop thread method at the top of the tassle where the original fold and knot is. Pull then decorate with beads :)
